The approaching holiday season and close of 2005 is an opportunity to remember and honor the American and Coalition troops fighting the difficult war in Iraq and elsewhere. We must stand firmly behind them in their efforts to combat the global war on terrorism. For their courage, dedication, and determination let us thank each and every serviceman and servicewoman on active duty, especially those who are in harm's way in Iraq, Afghanistan and other parts of the world.

We wish them all a Merry Christmas, Happy New Year, and a safe return home. God Bless!

Our heartfelt sympathy and gratitude is extended to the families of over 2100 American soldiers who made the supreme sacrifice and gave their lives for the freedom and democracy they so strongly believed in and that we enjoy. To their loved ones we say: “Please know that they did not die in vain.” In the annals of American history they are our nation's heroes and always will be!

May God bless you!

We also send our holiday greetings to all those that were wounded and/or disabled in this war. Their number has risen well over fifteen thousand. Thank you for your service and sacrifice. We thank you and your loved ones for enduring great hardships that in many cases still exist.

May God bless all of you during these holidays!

Happy holiday wishes go to all veterans and their families. You understand what it means to be at war and you remember well what it is to be in harm's way. You know the joy of homecoming. You went through it and you served well.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year 2006!

I greet all the members of the Ukrainian American Veterans, Inc. and their respective families with an ancient Ukrainian traditional Christmas greeting:

Christ is Born!

You went through the turmoil of 20th century wars: World War II, the Korean War, Vietnam, and other conflicts and skirmishes of the era. Some of you served in the Persian Gulf War, and now your sons and daughters are serving in Iraq, Afghanistan and other parts of the world as well. You answered the call and served honorably when the United States of America needed you the most.

May your Christmas Holydays be spent encircled by family love
and
may the New Year of 2006 bring joy and happiness to you and your loved ones!
