Veterans Benefits Banking Program (VBBP)

As a Ukrainian-American veteran, you may have faced financial challenges as a result of your service. Fortunately, the Department of Veteran Affairs (VA) offers resources to help you navigate these challenges, including the Veterans Benefits Banking Program (VBBP).

The VBBP is a valuable resource offered by the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) to veterans and their families. This program is a partnership between the VA and participating banks that provides low-cost, federally insured accounts to eligible veterans and their families. The program has recently expanded to include free financial education services.

2022 Scholarship Winners

Meet the 2022 Ukrainian American Veterans (UAV) Scholarship Winners. Each year the Ukrainian American Veterans (UAV) Scholarship awards academic scholarships to undergraduate college students of Ukrainian descent. This year the UAV awarded $6,000 to 12 students, each receiving $500.  Congratulations to the 2022 scholarship winners:

UAV Responds to Invasion of Ukraine

Ukrainian soldier under fire during invasion of Ukraine

To all of my Ukrainian brothers and sisters, “Слава Українi! Героям Слава!” (Glory to Ukraine, Glory to its Heroes). Know that all my thoughts and prayers are with you, your families, and your friends both here and in Ukraine.

It is completely overwhelming to watch this level of unprovoked and unjustified aggression in the 21st century against Ukraine. The most brutal warfare in seventy years has been unleashed on a peaceful country by Vladimir Putin, a thug of the highest order. The world is witnessing another attempt at genocide on the Ukrainian people.

Know this, my fellow Ukrainians, the level of support coming into Ukraine from across the world and from the diaspora is incredible. Munitions and supplies are enroute. With international help and the grace of God, this conflict will pass, leaving the Ukrainian people stronger and more unified than ever.

2021 Soyuzivka Ukrainian Cultural Festival

The annual Ukrainian Cultural Festival at Soyuzivka returns in 2021, and the Ukrainian American Veterans will be there!

UAV Quartermaster, Stephen Kostecki, will have a table at the 2021 festival and will be selling a selection of veteran’s apparel, coins, pins and more. Please stop by and say hello. You can also shop the UAV Quartermaster store online.

UAV National Monument Plaza Completed

UAV National Monument

On Tuesday, 30 March 2021, the UAV National Monument Officer, PNC Matt Koziak, and the UAV National Monument Treasurer, PNC Anna Krawczuk, visited the Ukrainian American Veterans National Monument on the grounds of St. Andrew’s Memorial Church in South Bound Brook, New Jersey. 

The contractor has finished the surrounding plaza, and it looks great.  Just in time for Easter, St. Thomas Sunday, and Memorial Day.  Job well done.
