Position Summary

The Ukrainian American Veterans, Inc. (UAV) is seeking a volunteer to serve as its National Public Relations/Publications Officer (PR Officer).  THIS IS AN UNPAID VOLUNTEER POSITION.

The National Public Relations/Publications Officer develops favorable relations with the public through the publication of information in the mass media and creates favorable public opinion regarding the activities of the Ukrainian American Veterans, Inc. The PR Officer informs the Ukrainians American Veterans membership of activities within the organization by publishing and distributing the national newsletter, the UAV Tribune.  The PR Officer assists the convention committee in publishing the annual convention journal.

As we enter 2026, the UAV National Welfare Fund Drive is once again underway—an important effort to provide assistance to fellow veterans who need support when life’s challenges arise.

Steve Kostecki National Quartermaster Obituary

Stephen J. Kostecki, longtime National Quartermaster, passed away on 24 October 2025. Steve was born in Boston in 1946 and lived in the Mission Hill area of Roxbury. He graduated from Roslindale High School in 1964. In May 1965, he enlisted in the US Air Force and served on active duty for 20 years. He was influenced to enlist and making the Air Force a career by his two uncles.

2025 Scholarship Winners

Meet the 2025 Ukrainian American Veterans (UAV) Scholarship Winners. Each year the Ukrainian American Veterans (UAV) Scholarship Fund awards academic scholarships to students of Ukrainian descent. This year the UAV awarded $6,000 to 10 students, each receiving $600.  The UAV National Scholarship Committee selected eight undergraduate students and two graduate students for the awards. 2024 Scholarship Winners

Meet the 2024 Ukrainian American Veterans (UAV) Scholarship Winners. Each year the Ukrainian American Veterans (UAV) Scholarship Fund awards academic scholarships to students of Ukrainian descent. This year the UAV awarded $5,500 to 11 students, each receiving $500.  The UAV National Scholarship Committee selected nine undergraduate students and two graduate students for the awards. Congratulations to the 2024 scholarship winners!
