Position Summary
The Ukrainian American Veterans, Inc. (UAV) is seeking a volunteer to serve as its National Webmaster. THIS IS AN UNPAID VOLUNTEER POSITION.
The UAV National Webmaster maintains the UAV website and provides technology support for the National Executive Board, including email, social media, video conferencing, and document sharing.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Register and maintain the UAV web domain name (www.uavets.org).
- Maintain our contract with our chosen web host.
- Update the website and draft new content, as needed.
- Work with the UAV National Quartermaster to maintain the UAV eCommerce store.
- Work with the UAV Finance Officer to establish and maintain the UAV’s chosen payment gateway.
- Obtain and configure website security (SSL) certificates.
- Monitor and fix any security issues related to the UAV website.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any technical problems associated with the website.
- Configure, monitor, and report on website analytics.
- Solicit content from the UAV National Executive Board, Post Commanders, and UAV Members.
- Work with the UAV Vice Commander to maintain an accurate (postal) mailing list of UAV members in good standing.
- Maintain electronic (email) mailing lists.
- Provide IT support for the UAV NEB and Post Commanders
- Create and maintain email accounts for all UAV NEB members.
- Recover UAV NEB email accounts, if needed.
- Set up and orchestrate video meetings in Zoom.
- Assist UAV NEB members with technical issues related to UAV business.
- Draft electronic newsletters to send to the UAV membership.
- Establish and maintain social media accounts for the UAV.

- Establish and maintain backups of UAV digital assets like the website and membership lists
- Establish and maintain video conferencing with our preferred vendor (Zoom).
- Configure meetings and share meeting invitations, as requested.
- Generate and share meeting assets like video recordings and minutes.
- Serve as a voting member of the UAV National Executive Board (NEB).
- Establish positive working relationships with all NEB members.
- Attend all NEB meetings (virtual quarterly meetings).
- Attend at least one in-person NEB meeting per year (typically held in conjunction with the annual convention in the fall).
- Present quarterly and annual written reports on web activity.
- Provide IT support at the UAV annual convention.
- Record meetings using our preferred vendor (Zoom).
- Generate and share meeting assets like video recordings and minutes.
- Other duties assigned by the UAV National Commander and NEB.
Skills and Qualifications
Required Skills and Attributes
- Must be a member in good standing of the Ukrainian American Veterans, Inc.

- Proficiency with Content Management Systems (CMS)
- Proficiency using the WordPress CMS.
- Proficiency creating and editing images for web publication.
- Proficiency configuring video meetings in Zoom.
Preferred Skills and Attributes
- Proficiency with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Able to create, edit and optimize images for web display.
- Able to apply web accessibility (WCAG) standards
- Familiarity with Google Analytics and its reporting functions.
- Proficiency using Google tools like Gmail, Google Drive, and Google Sheets.
- Proficiency using Adobe Acrobat to create documents and interactive forms.
- Familiarity with social media platforms
- Facebook Pages.
- YouTube channels.
- LinkedIn Business Pages.
- Familiarity with artificial intelligence (AI) as it applies to UAV programs and projects.
- Fluency in both Ukrainian and American English languages.
