Looking for Veterans Day 2019 discounts? My wife likes to joke that, as a veteran, I’m like a walking discount card. That’s especially true on Veterans Day, when national chains and local shops offer discounts and freebies to veterans and active duty military. For example, the car wash down the street is offering free car washes on November 11, and my local barbershop is offering free haircuts on Veterans Day as well.
There are restaurant discounts as well as retail stores offering Veterans Day discounts. Be sure to check if your local store is participating.
I’ve seen a lot of lists that show a variety of Veterans Day discounts, but most of them don’t seem to be accurate for 2019. This list is accurate. If I could not verify a 2019 discount on the company’s website, I didn’t include them in the list.
Free Meals for Veterans on Veterans Day 2019
Below is a list of national chains that are offering free meals on Veterans Day 2019. Click on a restaurant name to visit their website and see details of the offer. I didn’t include restaurants that only offered discounts, but I did include shops that offer free coffee or donuts.
7-Eleven. Veterans with a Veterans Advantage card can enjoy a free coffee or Big Gulp at 7-Eleven on Veterans Day 2019, as well as Memorial Day and July 4th.
Applebees. All active military members and veterans receive a free meal from any participating location on Veterans Day, November 11. Choose from a special menu. Applebees has been doing this since 2008, and claims to have served 9.8 million free meals.
Baker’s Square: Veterans and military with valid ID can enjoy a free meal at Bakers Square locations on Veterans Day 2019. Now through Veterans Day, Bakers Square will also raise funds for the Folded Flag Foundation. Bakers Square restaurants also offer a 10 percent military discount all year long
California Pizza Kitchen. Veterans and active military members can enjoy a choice of a complimentary pizza, pasta or full size salad and beverage from California Pizza Kitchen’s Veterans Day menu at all participating California Pizza Kitchen locations nationwide on Veterans Day 2019.
Chilis. On November 11, veterans are eligible for a free entree from a select menu. Dine-in only and participating locations only. Proof of military service required. Dine-in only. Beverages and gratuity not included.
Country Kitchen. Veterans and active duty military can enjoy a free Country Scramble, which includes two pancakes with scrambled eggs mixed with ham and cheese, on Veterans Day 2019 at participating Country Kitchen locations.
Denny’s.
Active duty military and veterans get a free Build-Your-Own Grand Slam at Denny’s with valid ID for Veterans Day
Dunkin Donuts. Dunkin’ is once again celebrating Veterans Day with a sweet salute to the brave men and women of the armed forces. On Monday, November 11, veterans and active duty military are invited to participating Dunkin’ restaurants nationwide for a free donut of their choice, no purchase necessary. In addition to a free donut of their choice, the first 50 veterans and active military at participating Dunkin’ restaurants on November 11 will also receive a thank you card written by members of the community from A Million Thanks.
Famous Dave’s. Veterans and active duty military with a valid ID can get a free “2-meat salute at participating Famous Dave’s this Veterans Day. Dine-in only. Ribs excluded from offer.
Farmer Boys. Veterans and active duty military with valid ID can enjoy a free cheeseburger at Farmer Boys on Veterans Day 2019. Limit one per service member.
Golden Corral. Every year, Golden Corral hosts Military Appreciation Night. This year, on Veterans Day 2019, any person who has served in the US Military (retirees, veterans, active duty, National Guard or Reserves) is eligible for a free meal at any Golden Corral location.
Hooters. Veterans and active duty military with military ID or proof of service can enjoy a free entree from a special Hooters Veterans Day menu with a purchase of a beverage on Veterans Day 2019.
IHOP. IHOP offers a choice of a free breakfast combo or free red, white and blueberry pancakes to active duty military and veterans for Veterans Day 2019 at participating locations.
Little Caesar’s. Veterans and military with valid ID can snag a free $5 Hot and Ready lunch combo from Little Caesar’s on Veterans Day 2019 from 11:00. to 14:00.
Mission BBQ. Mission BBQ will provide free sandwiches and cake to veterans and active duty military on Veterans Day 2019, 11:00- 20:00. Live performance of the National Anthem at 12:00.
Olive Garden. Veterans and active duty military can enjoy a free entree from a specially curated menu at participating Olive Garden locations for Veterans Day 2019. Contact your local Olive Garden to confirm participation.
Red Robin. Veterans and military with proof of service can enjoy a free Tavern Double Burger and Bottomless Steak Fries at Red Robin this Veterans Day. Dine-in only.
Tavern at Phipps. Tavern at Phipps will honor veterans and active duty military with valid ID on Veterans Day 2019 with a free entree. Visit New York Prime, California Dreaming, The Tavern at Phipps, Chophouse New Orleans, Carolina Roadhouse, Joey D’s Oak Room, Chophouse ’47 or Gulfstream Café on Monday, November 11, 2019 with a valid military ID or proof of service to enjoy a free entrée from the regular dinner menu.
Texas Roadhouse. Veterans and active military can receive a free lunch on Nov. 11 from 11:00 to 16:00 at all Texas Roadhouse locations.
Retail Discounts for Veterans Day and Beyond
Amazon. Through November 11, 2019, veterans, active-duty troops and Guard and Reserve members can get a one-year Amazon Prime membership for $79 – that’s $40 off the $119 regular price. And if you already have an account, you can renew your Prime membership at the lower rate.
Army & Air Force Exchange Service. The Exchange is offering Veterans Day deals on various items, including holiday gift items and food court and mall purchases, November 8 through 14. The Exchange will also feature one-day only specials on Veterans Day, November 11, including a free coffee for all shoppers at Express and participating Exchange restaurant locations.
Bass Pro Shops. Verified members of the armed services, veterans, retirees, and members of the National Guard and Reserve get 10% off at Cabela’s in-store and online November 8-11 as part of their Hometown Heroes celebration. 10% discount excludes firearms and ammo.
Dollar General. Veterans and families receive an 11 % discount on qualifying items in store and online. See website for details.
Grand Trunk. Register online, with proof of service, and receive 30% discount off items on the entire website featuring adventure gear. This discount is available once you register, and is not limited to Veterans Day.
Kohl’s. Thursday, November 7, through Monday, November 11, 2019, Kohl’s is doubling its Military Monday discount to thank all active and former military personnel, veterans and their families. The 30% off in-store discount is double what Kohl’s offers year round for Military Mondays, where all active and former military personnel, veterans and their families receive a 15% in-store discount. Discounts are valid in-store when customers show a valid Military ID, Military Dependent ID or Veteran ID at the point of purchase. Customers can ask an associate for details and exclusions.
Lowes. Lowe’s is proud to offer 10% off eligible purchases every day to active military personnel and veterans.
Rack Room Shoes. Military personnel and their families with valid military ID get a 10% discount off entire purchase on Memorial Day, Independence Day and Veterans Day, November 11, as well as every Tuesday year-round. In-store only.
Target. Target offers a 10% military discount on a purchase made in-store and online at Target.com from November 3-11, 2019. You must verify your military service online to receive a 10% off store-wide coupon by email. Offer is valid for a single use at Target and Target.com from November 3-11 and cannot be combined with any other coupon.
Under Armour. Verified active-duty service members and veterans receive a 20% discount year-round from Under Amour stores and online. You can receive your discount while shopping online by verifying your eligibility with ID.me. This discount cannot be combined with other promotional codes
